Dani's 2013 Challenges.....
Sun 6th January 2013
And we are a go-go.....
Last night was fab; drinks, dancing and catching up with some of my best girls! Added bonus was I didn't drink so no hangover this morning!
Did feel slightly 'past it' though whilst bopping away in the club, didn't have a clue what the music was, half the lasses were dressed in next to nothing, with fake hair, eyelashes and tans; the lads were all dressed like Olly Murs or in suits thinking they were the pimp daddy! Even when we went to the kebab shop for some 'sobering up' food, the rest of the crowd that were there were in the more mature age bracket!
It was a great night though and was lovely to catch up with the girls!
Today was Charity Event # 1! The 14th Annual Round Louth 14 mile walk in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. I was lucky enough to be joined by my amazing 13yr old son. The sun was shining, it was looking to be a beautiful day....
The route took us across every so muddy fields, along roads, over hills, across a golf course and through farm estates. 'Squaddy' is the new word of the day after all the mud we trod through, imagine Glastonbury, then times it by 5! We nearly lost the trainers a couple of times, and I think Weez added a few inches to his height due to all of the mud that had collated under his feet!
We managed to get lost a few times due to the signposts being only small enough for the borrowers to read, so a few diverted routes across the muddiest fields you have ever seen! A big thanks to the owners of Brackenborough Hall though, they laid on teas, coffees, biscuits and use of toilet facilities for all participants, plus had all of us traipsing through their land. Lovely couple :)
So the 14 miler was completed as a 15.03 miler, I couldn't be more proud of my boy, he kept up, moaned only a little and made me laugh loads during the walk. But above all he pushed himself and kept going. I am one proud mumma!!
This evening we are resting and celebrating a good day. Back to work tomorrow :'(
This year so far has been frickin awesome, I hope it stays that way!
37.40 miles completed this year, which means at the end of week 1 we only have 1975.6 miles to go for 2013!
Rest well peeps!
Dani x
